The start of the trail is a bit tricky to locate, it's at

From the parking place walk towards the church and then to then keeping the church on your right, continue along the road which winds in a 180 degree turn. The path is on the right side of the road. The coloured markers are not easy to see but look out for a sign that warns that the path is about to reach the road. The W3W co ordinates above are easiest to use.
About 2/3 of theway to Chipude, just before Pavon, you can do a detour up Fortaleza, an ancient area of local ritual sacrifice. It looks tough, but its not so bad and we did it so that doesn’t give you much choice!
